SUMMARY/BIOGRAPHY

Ferdinand holds an MPhil in Entomology and a BSc in Entomology and Wildlife from University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He works as a Scientific Secretary at CSIR-IIR and currently also studying for a Ph.D in Environmental Science at University of Ghana. He has also taken several short courses among others in:  “Food Security & Management: Environmental Life Cycle Assessment and Eco Design”; post graduate certificate course in “Project Cycle Management”; post-graduate International training course in “Modern Apiculture management: Honey byproducts and Pollination” in Israel; an online Certificate course in “Ecological Economic and Environmental Justice”, UK; short course in “monitoring and communicating biodiversity” at Field Studies Council-UK; and Diploma in “Business Management and Administration” at the Institute of Commercial Management (UK) Ghana. He worked as part-time lecturer/consultant, Senior Research Assistant, and Teaching and Research Assistant (national service personnel) at the Department of Conservation Biology & Entomology, UCC from 2009-2015.  Ferdinand has vast experience in Scientific Communication, proposal development, technology transfer, environmental Management and Eco-design. He is also Knowledgeable in beekeeping, Insect ecology, pollination biology and serves as consultant in training, development and management of beekeeping projects. His current research interest are in the area of; Energy use and implication on Environment and Climate change, Environmental Monitoring and Post-harvest loss technology.
